Barita Investments Limited (BIL) led gains on Tuesday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
BIL gained 24.40 per cent to close at $8.77 followed by Express Catering (ECL) up 21.62 per cent to close at $5.40.
The day’s top loser went to Caribbean Cement Company Ltd. (CCC) down 10.64 per cent to close at $26.61.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 5,021.05 points (1.91 per cent) to close at 267,437.72. The JSE Index advanced by 4,823.73 points (1.94 per cent) to close at 253,433.57. The Junior Market Index advanced by 53.71 points (1.73 per cent) to close at 3,161.90. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 3.76 points (1.99 per cent) to close at 192.60.
Market activity resulted from trading in 47 stocks of which 23 advanced, 13 declined and 11 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 8,891,469 units valued at over $74,190,237.65.
Express Catering was the volume leader with 6,676,605 units followed by Jetcon Corporation Limited with 948,848 units and Proven Investments Limited USD with 404,258 units. .
