Barita leads during Monday's trading
Barita Investments Limited (BIL) led gains on Monday's trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
BIL gained 14.89 per cent to close at $10.80 followed by General Accident Insurance Company (JA) Limited (GENAC) up 11.86 per cent to close at $3.30. The day’s top loser went to Radio Jamaica Limited (RJR) down 11.25 per cent to close at $1.42.
JSE Combined Index advanced by 58.88 points (0.02 per cent) to close at 264,779.77. The JSE Index declined by 470.10 points (0.19 per cent) to close at 250,156.51. The Junior Market Index advanced by 45.93 points (1.46 per cent) to close at 3,195.72.
The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 2.04 points (1.08 per cent) to close at 186.22. Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 50 stocks of which 28 advanced, 16 declined and 6 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 11,954,518 units valued at over $87,370,574.54.
Express Catering was the volume leader with 3,590,526 units (30.03 per cent) followed by Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited with 3,513,068 units (29.39 per cent) and Stationery and Office Supplies with 1,290,789 units (10.80 per cent) .
