Barita Investments led gains during Tuesday’s trading

Barita Investments Limited (BIL) led gains on Tuesday’s trading day of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).

BIL gained 12.27 per cent to close at $22.65, followed by Blue Power Group Limited (BPOW), up nine per cent to close at $5.45. The days largest declining stock was Paramount Trading (Jamaica) Limited (PTL), down 27.61 per cent to close at $2.15.

The JSE Combined Index advanced by 7,910.04 points (2.16 per cent) to close at 374,775.59. The JSE Index advanced by 9,597.88 points (2.66 per cent) to close at 369,855.73. The Junior Market Index declined by 82.86 points (2.53 per cent) to close at 3,187.17. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 1.75 points (1.18 per cent) to close at 146.60.

Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 49 stocks of which 21 advanced, 22 declined and 6 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 17,235,121 units valued at over $220,388,781.67. Key Insurance Company Limited was the volume leader with 9,535,317 units (55.32 per cent) followed by Seprod Limited with 1,850,546 units (10.74 per cent) and Wisynco Group Ltd. Ordinary Shares with 1,125,534 units (6.53 per cent).
