Barita, up 16%, led gains on Monday
Barita Investments led gains in Monday's trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
Barita gained 16 per cent to close at $7.00 with only 300 units trading. It was followed by Seprod, up 14 per cent to $27 with 1,000 units trading.
But the volume leader was Caribbean Flavours & Fragrances (CFF) - up 12 per cent to $12.75 - with a large block trade of 8.99 million units.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 2,215.23 points ( 0.89 per cent) to close at 251,744.38.
The JSE Index advanced by 2,393.86 points (1.02 per cent) to close at 236,124.47.
The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index advanced by 2,627.40 points (1.02 per cent) to close at 259,160.39.
The Junior Market Index advanced by 0.25 points (0.01 per cent) to close at 3,189.83.
The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 12.75 points ( 6.79 per cent) to close at 200.45.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 42 stocks of which 22 advanced, 15 declined and five traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 12,032,203 units valued at over $144.9 million.
