Bank teller allegedly held with shotgun in St Catherine

A team of officers assigned to the St. Catherine North Police Division arrested and charged two men in connection with a firearm and ammunition seizure on Lauriston Drive, Spanish Town, St. Catherine.
They are 24-year-old James Taylor, a bank teller of Ensom Mews, St. Catherine and 21-year-old Andrew Thomas, an upholsterer of Rio Cobre Drive, both in the parish.
Reports from the Spanish Town police are that about 5:20 p.m., on Thursday, November 22, lawmen were conducting operations in the area when they signalled the driver of a Nissan Sunny motor car to stop. He complied and the vehicle was searched and a 12-gauge shotgun containing three 12-gauge cartridges was found in the trunk of the vehicle.
Both men were subsequently arrested and charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
The police said their court date is to be announced soon.
