Bamm Holt aims to carve out own path in music
Bamm Holt, the grandson of reggae icon John Holt, carries on his family's legacy with the release of his new single, 'One Thing'.
Produced by Allan Ulisses, the song has been making the rounds on local and international radio.
According to Holt in a press release, the track is a reggae-hip hop fusion and was inspired by life’s lessons: "no matter what, don’t give up and no matter what, some things in life just don’t go away," Bamm said.
"Visuals to the single have been released which speak to my life ... and is a precursor to a documentary we are working on for my grandfather John Holt," he added.
Being the grandson of John Holt, Bamm, who was born in Spanish Town, has always been influenced by music, and he recalls singing at his uncle's home from a tender age.
He said he developed a love for music while being raised in Brooklyn, New York and he cultured a fusion of his rich heritage with hip hop for a unique sound that blends reggae, dancehall and soft rap.
While in the process of releasing his first EP at a time when new sounds are being discovered, he said he intends to carve his own path in the music industry while still keeping the Holt legacy alive.
