Bahamian fugitive nabbed in anti-narcotics operation in Clarendon

A Bahamian fugitive was held during an anti-narcotics operation by members of the Police Narcotics Division and the Clarendon police on Saturday night.

The fugitive, whose identity is being withheld by the local police, is reportedly wanted by Bahamian police on drug-related matters.

He is believed to have entered Jamaica illegally.

Reports are that about 9:00 p.m., the narcotics police and personnel from the Frankfield police conducted a one-hour-long anti-narcotics operation at premises in Frankfield, where four pounds of ganja was seized.

The Bahamian national and another occupant of the premises were arrested and charged in connection with the drugs.

The Bahamian national is being further investigated for breaches of the Immigration Act.
