There is now an association for career salespeople in Jamaica where they can access support to help them execute their jobs better.
Businessman Duane Lue Fung launched the Professional Sales Representative Association of Jamaica (PSRAJ) last week.
"Selling is a lonely profession where you face the most rejection and have to keep going to meet your targets," Lue-Fung, the founder and president of PSRAJ, said in a press release.
"Imagine a home for salespersons where the tools and resources to help persons sell smarter and for bigger sums are in one place. That is what the vision of PSRAJ is, " Lue-Fung said, adding "It is time that salespersons have somewhere where they can network across industries and learn sales strategies."
Sagicor Life founder Danny Williams, who started his sales career at age 12, is the patron of PSRAJ, the concept of which was born through collaboration between Williams and Lue-Fung, who is also founder and chairman of OCADO Communications and THINK GROW LEAD.
"Nothing happens until you make a sale," Williams said. "Sales is the foundation of business life and this association will work to help sales leaders improve their skill set."
The official launch of the PSRAJ will be held later in April. However, the board is already active in formulating the way forward to grow the industry.
The founding Board of the PSRAJ has pulled from the automobile, finance, insurance, food, media, real estate, and technology industry.
In addition to Williams and Lue-Fung, the composition of the board is as follows: Glendon Gordon, Vice-president of Individual Life Operations at the Guardian Life Group; Andrew James, President of the Realtors Association of Jamaica (RAJ); Matthew Stevenson, Group Sales Manager at Stewart's Automotive Group; Everton Grennell, Director of Sales at Advanced Integrated Solutions; Paul Bryan, Managing Director of THINK. GROW. LEAD; PSRAJ Director, Chris Lawe, Branch Manager for Sagicor Life Jamaica Ltd; Dennise Williams, Founder & Creative Director of Financially Focused Media and Managing Director of OCADO Communications; and Tamara Thompson, general manager of World Brand Services and Consumer Brands Ltd at GraceKennedy.
