Residents of the community of Havendale in St Andrew are again under the gun.

Police from the Constant Spring Station have confirmed that at least seven victims filed reports of being robbed by armed men travelling in a vehicle in the community on Tuesday, June 26 alone.

The robbers are reported to be travelling in a group of three, in a black vehicle with a L affixed at the front and back. The L signifies a learner driver and is used by the hoodlums to lull members of the public into a false sense of security when the vehicle approaches at slow speed.

A police source said five of the victims were females.

Loop News understands that one female narrowly escaped being abducted by the gunmen after she made an alarm before making her escape by scaling the wall to a basic school located on Kirk Avenue in the community. The female is now nursing injuries after receiving several gashes to her leg and right foot during her escape bid.

Police report that they have information that the men are armed with a sub machine gun and have been holding their victims at gunpoint and relieving them of their cellular phones, cash and other valuables.

The Police have vowed to increase patrols in the community in a bid to nab the robbers and keep the residents safe from further harassment.

The community of Havendale has been a target for robbers for several years now especially during the summer months. The robbers usually travel around in cars or on a motorbike and carry out robberies at all hours.
