ARE YOU BEING SERVED? Customer service rep ‘cons’ cops re wanted man

A woman has been charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition following the alleged seizure of a shotgun at her home on Thursday.

The accused has been identified as 35-year-old customer service representative, Simone Thompson, of Bethel Town in the parish.

She has also been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Reports are that about 5:45 a.m. on Thursday, members of the security forces went to Bethel Town in search of Donovan Roach, a man who is reportedly wanted for murder, shootings and other serious crimes.

According to the police, they went to Thompson’s home and asked for Roach, and was told that Roach does not reside there.

But only moments later, a man reportedly jumped through a back window and fired shots at the police party, before escaping into nearby bushes.

A police officer was reportedly shot and injured during the attack.

A subsequent search of the house resulted in the seizure of a shotgun and a 9mm magazine, the police reported.

As result, the customer service representative was arrested charged.
