Apprentice Anthony Thomas stars at Caymanas Park with two winners

TIMEFORARMS, the 9-5 favourite, easily won Saturday's closing event over a mile at Caymanas Park, one of two winners for apprentice Anthony Thomas on the 11-race card.

Slowly away in the 12-horse line-up, TIMEFORARMS made up ground along the rail down the backstretch while JAMAI RAJA, MEMORY OF TS and MR AMBASSADOR disputed the lead.

The eight-year-old came off the turn full of running and quickly dismissed the leaders, leaving DILIGENT, who took the outside route, to pick up the chase.

TIMEFORARMS powered to a three and three-quarter length victory ahead of SECRET TRAVELER, who closed well to relegate DILIGENT.

Earlier, 2-1 favourite SERGEANT RECKLESS, with jockey Oneil Mullings, won the 1100-metre Sunny Side Stakes, a native-bred two-year-old maiden special weight event for fillies only; while 5-2 second choice favourite FIFTY CENTS, with apprentice rider Odeen Edwards, took the Flossie McNeil Memorial Cup, a native-bred three-year-old and up restricted allowance II (NW2) event over 1200 metres.

Racing continues at Caymanas Park on Tuesday with the Boxing Day meet.
