Another suspect in attempted robbery of businessman held

The police say they have apprehended a second suspect linked to the foiled robbery of a business operator in downtown Kingston last weekend.

The police said two men held the business operator at gunpoint but were surprised by the would-be –victim who pulled his licensed firearm and opened fire at his attackers, who subsequently fled the scene.

One of the attackers was later found suffering from gunshot wounds. He later died at hospital.

The police said the other man managed to escape, but was held a day later during an operation that was carried out in a section of the Corporate Area.

“He will be placed on an ID parade as we step up our investigation into the incident,”  a senior officer from Kingston Central police station.
