Another curfew imposed in Waterford

A second curfew has been imposed in the community of Waterford in Portmore, St Catherine, where heavy tension remains following the murder of an elderly woman, her daughter and grandson, all members of one family, on Sunday, December 1.

An advisory from the Constabulary Communications Unit state that the curfew will remain effect from 6:00 pm on Monday, December 9 to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, December 11.

The first curfew, since the triple murder of Pamela Russell, 74; Shermella Russel Craig, 48; and Romario Craig, 22, was imposed on Monday, December 2 and was supposed to have ended at 6pm Wednesday, December 4, but the authorities announced that it was extended to Friday, December 6.


The boundaries of the curfew are as follows:

North along Caymanas Drive from the eastern perimeter wall of Caymanas Park along Adair Drive across the gully to Dyke Road.

South along: along Passagefort Drive from the intersection with Dyke Road to the eastern perimeter wall of Caymanas Park.

West: from the intersection with Passagefort Drive along the eastern perimeter wall of Caymanas Park along Caymanas Drive to the intersection with Adair Drive; and

East: along Dyke Road from the intersection with Passagefort Drive to the northern boundary.

During the hours of the curfew, all persons within the boundaries are required to remain within their premises unless authorised in writing by the ground commander.
