The cool evening breeze helped to sooth the atmosphere for guests to chat and partake of the offerings at American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) of Jamaica's recent membership mingle.

Members of AMCHAM Jamaica grasped the opportunity to meet outside of the usual meeting settings, chatting and socialising amongst themselves in the relaxed space at the United States of America Embassy in St Andrew.

The sumptuous meal with wine for those who dared, and hot beverage or fruit punch for the rest, added to the sophistication of the evening's affair, with some of Jamaica's leading entitles' top executives intermingling with those from up and coming enterprises, exchanging ideas and business opportunities along the way.

Not missing any action in the mix of bodies was Loop News' parent company, Trend Media's CEO, Aileen Corrigan, elegantly adorned in the required business attire. A full black dress was her choice.

According to the President of the chamber, Allison Peart, “the event has been on the cards and this year AMCHAM Jamaica will be engaging our members more, our committees are reinvigorated, our membership is increasing, and our plans to create more connections to grow your businesses are being achieved.”

She also announced that the US Chamber of Commerce will be in Jamaica to discuss the US Regional Trade Agenda with the AMCHAM members, presenting a direct connection to the mission to promote trade and investment between Jamaica and the Americas.

CEO, Gail Abrahams, in an interview, spoke about the partnerships and alliances of AMCHAM Jamaica, including that with AMCHAM Finland on their Launchpad USA programme that assists companies wishing to establish businesses in the USA.

She noted that the chamber’s business matchmaking services have also increased, and there is now an increase in interest of US companies wanting to invest in Jamaica and partner with Jamaican companies.

She added that the members will continue to see a thrust in membership engagements through the use of technology, which will keep them informed while connecting with AMCHAM Jamaica and the other AMCHAMS across the region and the world.

She emphasised that AMCHAM Jamaica is connected to 116 AMCHAMS across the world, a value proposition that is beneficial to the members.
