Alleged teen robber shot dead by licensed gun holder in Old Harbour

A teenager who the police said was among a group of robbers who attempted to rob a bar in Old Harbour, St Catherine on Sunday afternoon, was shot dead by a licensed firearm holder.

The deceased man has been identified as 18-year-old Alexander Nembhard, alias ‘Bomb’, of Burke Road in Old Harbour.

According to reports, at about 2 pm, three armed men entered the bar along Darlington Drive in the town, and attempted to rob patrons.

It is reported that the assailants were challenged by the licensed firearm holder, and a shootout ensued.

When the shooting subsided, Nembhard was found suffering from gunshot wounds, while the other two men reportedly escaped.

The police were alerted and the injured man was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police investigators are continuing to probe the incident.
