Alleged ex-girlfriend killer again remanded in St Elizabeth

The case against the man who allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death in Brinkley district in St Elizabeth last month, made no progress in court on Wednesday, due to an incomplete case file.

The accused, 26-year-old Jermaine Miller of Hopeton district in Hatfield, Manchester, was charged with murder and burglary.

When his case was mentioned in the St Elizabeth Parish Court on Wednesday, the prosecution said the case file was still incomplete, as the post-mortem report was unavailable.

Miller was then remanded in police custody until February 19, when the case is again to be mentioned.

It was reported that the now deceased woman, 27-year-old Nevia Sinclair, ended a relationship with Miller and had returned to her parent's home a week before her death.

Further reports are that on Sunday, January 12, at about 11.50 pm, Sinclair was home with her parents when they heard screaming and when they went to check, they saw Miller running from the house.

They found Sinclair in a pool of blood with stab wounds.

She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Miller was subsequently handed over to the police by his father.
