Alleged drug, murder fugitive from the US held in Westmoreland

The Lottery Scamming Taskforce, supported by the Jamaica Fugitive Apprehension Team (JFAT) and the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s (JCF) Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, apprehended an American man who is wanted on an extradition warrant in the United States of America, on Wednesday, March 13.

The alleged fugitive has been identified as 23-year-old Isaiah Benjamin Stewart of Windmeadows Boulevard Apartments, Gainesville, Florida.

He is wanted on an extradition warrant for drug-related offences and homicide in the US.

Reports are that between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., law enforcement officers carried out a special operation on Hopewell Road in Darliston, Westmoreland, where a premises was searched and Stewart was found and arrested.

He is now awaiting an extradition hearing.
