Justice Minister Delroy Chuck has revealed that at the end of March this year, the Government had paid out approximately $1.3 billion to settle 303 judgment debts against the state.

Chuck, who was making his contribution to the Sectoral Debate in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, said it was the first time that all such claims had been settled.

“We owe nothing,” Chuck declared while explaining that all matters submitted from the Attorney General’s Chambers were paid.

And the justice minister revealed that up to May 18, the Government has paid up judgment debts covering 56 matters totalling just over $78 million.
