Alia Atkinson, Breanna Roman hit qualifying times at Pro Swim Series

Jamaican Olympians Alia Atkinson and Breanna Roman will contest the women’s 100m breaststroke B and C finals at the 2019 Pro Swim Series at the Collegiate School Aquatics Center in Richmond, Virginia.
Both swimmers qualified for the respective finals during the morning session of the second day of competition on Thursday. The finals will take place in the evening session.
Atkinson will contest the B final after clocking 1:10.43 for 10th place in the preliminary round of the women’s 100m breaststroke. The time betters the Pan American Games qualifying A standard of 1:11.11.
Roman opened her season with a time of 1:14.98 for 24th and will face the starter in the C final. Roman's time was faster than the Pan American Games qualifying B standard of 1:15.38.
Atkinson will also contest the D final in the 100m butterfly after posting a time of 1:03.53 (split time 29.19). That morning swim is faster than the Pan American Games qualifying B standard of 1:04.93.
