AgroGrace rebranded as H&L Agro

AgroGrace has rebranded as H&L Agro in a renewed commitment to preserving the legacy of the 80-year-old institution, with a seamless integration of products and services to create a more robust agricultural industry.

“This rebranding is a natural evolution for us, and is a significant step in the direction of our new strategic approach to expand our footprint across all aspects of our industry,” said Donna Doran, CEO, Hardware & Lumber Ltd, operators of the new H&L Agro as well as Rapid True Value.

“Our history is replete with changes that have ensured our viability as a business, and these changes have created lasting impacts on us as well as Jamaica. This move is to ensure that we are better able to meet and exceed our customer and industry demands, the communities in which we operate, and the nation,” she said.

The company commenced operation as early as 1935 as a department of GraceKennedy, with the distribution primarily of the WR Grace brand of Fertilizer. In 1961, the business registered as Grace Agricultural and Industrial Company (GAICO) as a subsidiary of GraceKennedy and expanded its product portfolio. In 1984 the company was renamed AGROGRACE Ltd., a name that was maintained after the 2003 merger with H&L Agri and Marine Company.

As AgroGrace, the business has been the market leader in the distribution of quality agricultural inputs ranging from agricultural pesticides, public health pesticides, application equipment, personal protective equipment, hybrid seeds, fertilizers, lawn and garden supplies, and agricultural tools and implements.

“Our portfolio has expanded, which means greater product offers and we have strategically implemented value-added services across the spectrum to ensure that we meet our demands,” Doran added. “However, our teams will continue to support our clients with the same level of great customer service to which they have become accustomed. As we expand, we will continue to plan the next phase of our evolution, protecting national food security, supporting public health and safety, investing in technical education, training and partnership with various interest groups such as RADA.”
