Accused rapist becomes third Linstead lock-up escapee recaptured

The Linstead Police recaptured a third lock-up escapee on Thursday night.

He is 28-year-old Ezroy Cohen of Banbury, Linstead. He was charged for burglary and rape.

Cohen was among six men who escaped from the Linstead Lock-up on Wednesday, October 11. He was nabbed while attempting to board a taxi in the Linstead town centre about 11:50 pm, the police said.

Two other escapees—Alwayne Shakespear and Daniel James—have also been recaptured.

Still on the run are

- Shane Wellington, 25, of Cassava Pond, Ewarton in St. Catherine. He is charged with murder and frequents Ewarton and Breadnut Hill in St Ann.

- Twenty-four-year-old Damion Daley of Banbury Linstead, who is charged for arson; and

- Anthony Jarrett, 29, of Mountain Pass, Linstead and Church Pen, Old Harbour both in St Catherine. He is charged for murder.

The Police are renewing their appeal for these men to turn themselves. Anyone with information on their whereabouts to call the Linstead Police 985-2285, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest Police Station.

Persons are also being reminded that it is a criminal offence to harbour a fugitive.
