8-y-o child stabbed to death, mother injured in Old Harbour dispute

An eight-year-old child died from stab wounds he sustained, reportedly at the hands of an adult, in Old Harbour, St Catherine on Saturday.

The boy, identified as Aaron Masters of Marlin Way, Old Harbour Glades, died from wounds he sustained in an attack in which his mother, Tony-Ann Campbell, 24, a bartender of the same address, was also stabbed and injured during a dispute.

Reports from the police are that about 6.30 am, the police were called to the location after reports were made about a violent dispute between persons at a premises.

During the altercation, both the mother and child were injured when a quarrel reportedly turned into a violent confrontation.

A 33-year-old man was taken into custody in relation to the incident, with further investigations under way by the police.
