51-year-old female 'career robber' gets two years behind bars

An alleged serial robber is off the streets for a couple of years.

Fifty-one-year-old Nadine Franklin of a West Kingston address was slapped with a two-year sentence for simple larceny when she appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court last week, according to the police.

Cops identify Franklin as being a major player behind a number of robberies across the Corporate Area, especially in the downtown commercial hub.

“Based on our checks, she has a total of 21 convictions, with a large number of them for robbery,” an officer told Loop News.

She was arrested and charged recently after being caught trying to steal from a store in downtown Kingston. The cops said the woman had just ended a five-year prison sentence for a similar crime before the latest run-in with the law.

The police said there are three other convictions to which Franklin is reportedly linked, but the records relative to those cases have not yet been located.
