50-y-o Trelawny man shot dead; 2nd murder in same community in 7 days

A 50-year-old man was shot and killed by gunmen during a brazen daylight attack in the community of Bounty Hall, Trelawny on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Keith Jarrett, also called 'Kutchie'.

Reports are that about 1:30 p.m., gunshots were heard coming from a section of the Bounty Hall community.

The police were called by frightened residents in the area. On their arrival, the police carried out a search and found Jarrett near to his gate suffering from gunshot wounds. He was lying in a pool of blood.

He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Jarrett's killing was the second in the Bounty Hall community in seven days, and brought to 19, the number of murders that have been recorded in Trelawny since the start of the year. 

Investigators are yet to establish a motive for the latest killing.

Last Saturday another community member, 28-year-old unemployed,  Lavante Cameron, also called 'Vante', was similarly shot and killed in the community.
