47-year-old man shot dead in Islington, St Mary

The traditionally quiet parish of St Mary, which last year figured significantly among the country’s murder figures, has recorded its third murder for the New Year.

The latest homicide occurred on Monday when gunman pounced upon a 47-year-old man at his home in Islington.

The deceased has been identified as Fabian Marsh.

Reports are that at about 7:00 a.m., Marsh was at home in a section of the community, when gunmen approached him.

They shot him multiple times before fleeing the area.

Residents summoned the police, and upon their arrival, Marsh's bullet-riddled body was found lying in a pool of blood.

Further investigations are ongoing.

Marsh's death follows on the heels of the killings of two men, including a teen, who were slain in the communities of Highgate and Robin's Bay two weeks ago.

Sixteen-year-old Tahir Puran was the first victim, when he was fatally stabbed to the left side of his chest by another teenager in the community of Highgate on Thursday night, January 4, during a dispute.

Three days later, 52-year-old fisherman, Steve Anderson, alias ‘John Crow’, was found at his house in Robin's Bay with stab wounds to his upper body, his throat slashed, and his hands and feet bound with tape.
