$3.2 million ganja seizure in Clarendon

The narcotics police have commenced investigations into the seizure of approximately 800 pounds of compressed in Milk River, Clarendon on Tuesday, September 4.

Reports are that about 12:10 p.m., police personnel supported by members of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), were on operation in the Farquharson Beach area of the community, when they found 19 knitted bags containing 154 parcels with compressed ganja in the mangroves.

Fourteen drums of fuel were also found.

The drugs and fuel were seized and an investigation launched.

The drugs have an estimated street value of $3.2 million.

The narcotics police are appealing to anyone with information about the seizure to contact them at 876- 923-5729, the police 119 emergency number, or the nearest police station.
