The police are pursuing several leads into the killing of a mechanic in Mount Edgecombe in Runaway Bay, St Ann on Thursday morning. The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Narado Ebanks, alias ‘Fred’, of Mount Edgecombe. Reports are that at about 3:40 a.m., two masked men kicked open the door to Ebanks' house and shot at him. He ran from the house and was chased by the men as they continued to fire several shots in his direction. Ebanks, who received several gunshot wounds, later collapsed along the roadway. Residents, who heard the explosions, summoned the police and upon their arrival, Ebanks was seen lying along the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and upper body. The police have not established a motive for the killing. St Ann has recorded six murders since the start of the year. The parish recorded 60 murders in 2017, up from 53 the previous year.
