1834 Investments led gains on Tuesday
1834 Investments Limited (1834) led gains on Tuesday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
1834 gained 7.69 per cent to close at $1.40 followed by Seprod Limited (SEP) up 6.60 per cent to close at $31.18. The day’s top loser went to Pulse Investments Limited (PULS) down 16.47 per cent to close at $1.42.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 3,532.17 points (1.30 per cent) to close at 275,151.44. The JSE Index advanced by 3,925.61 points (1.52 per cent) to close at 262,966.73. The Junior Market Index declined by 7.96 points (0.26 per cent) to close at 3,061.94.
The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 0.47 points (0.25 per cent) to close at 191.75. Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 51 stocks of which 21 advanced, 19 declined and 11 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 8,022,331 units valued at over $102.6 million. Jamaica Producers Group Ltd. was the volume leader with 4,075,641 units (50.80 per cent) followed by Lasco Distributors Limited with 1,700,000 units (21.19 per cent) and Kingston Properties Limited with 598,296 units (7.46 per cent) .
