1834 Investments led gains during Friday's trading

1834 Investments Limited (1834) led gains during Friday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
1834 gained 9.0 per cent to close at $1.09, followed by Kingston Wharves Limited (KW), up 5.9 per cent to close at $72.00. The day’s largest declining stock was Stanley Motta Limited Ordinary Shares (SML), down 15.3 per cent to close at $4.50.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 1,061.01 points (0.27 per cent) to close at 389,066.68. The JSE Index advanced by 1,580.91 points (0.41 per cent) to close at 386,815.40. The Junior Market Index declined by 35.46 points (1.14 per cent) to close at 3,071.06. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 0.15 points (0.08 per cent) to close at 179.23. Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 54 stocks of which 14 advanced, 29 declined and 11 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 4,697,835 units valued at over $65 million. Derrimon Trading Company Limited was the volume leader with 2,510,989 units (53.45 per cent) followed by Sygnus Credit Investments Limited USD Ordinary Shares with 580,900 units (12.37 per cent) and Scotia Group Jamaica Limited with 508,817 units (10.83 per cent.
