138 Student Living led gains during Wednesday’s trading

The stock price of 138 Student Living (138SL) led gains on Wednesday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
The stock price of 138SL, which provides rental of dorms to students rocketed 29 per cent to $2.10. On the previous day, the stock lost double-digit amounts.
It was followed by Stanley Motta Limited up 13 per cent to $4.88 on the day.
The top declining stocks went to Ciboney group down 12.5 per cent to $0.14 followed by SSL Ventures down 12.3 per cent to $1.71.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 565.00 points (0.15 per cent) to close at 373,875.84. The JSE Index advanced by 512.73 points (0.14 per cent) to close at 369,586.56. The Junior Market Index advanced by 8.54 points (0.27 per cent) to close at 3,128.39. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 0.71 points (0.43 per cent) to close at 164.36.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 59 stocks of which 26 advanced, 26 declined and 7 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 3,685,963 units valued at over $58,753,430.45. JMMB Group 7.50 per cent was the volume leader with 434,845 units followed by Fontana Limited with 368,797 units and SSL Ventures with 367,161 units.
