138 Student Living leads Wednesday's trading on JSE

138 Student Living Jamaica Limited (138SL) led gains on Wednesday’s trading of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
138SL gained 9.56 per cent to close at $5.50 followed by Caribbean Cement Company Ltd. (CCC) up 8.15 per cent to close at $28.78. The day’s top loser went to Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited (SJ) down 4.39 per cent to close at $32.04.
The JSE Combined Index declined by 1,995.52 points (0.75 per cent) to close at 265,442.20. The JSE Index declined by 2,085.59 points (0.82 per cent) to close at 251,347.98. The Junior Market Index declined by 6.83 points (0.22 per cent) to close at 3,155.07. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 5.10 points (2.65 per cent) to close at 197.70.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 45 stocks of which 15 advanced, 22 declined and 8 traded firm. Market volume amounted to 5,574,030 units valued at over $67 million. Jetcon Corporation Limited was the volume leader with 1,978,580 units followed by Lasco Manufacturing Limited with 769,919 units and Lasco Distributors Limited with 518,930 units.
